Limavady United’s NIFL Premiership fixture away to Larne, originally scheduled for Saturday 22 August, has been postponed. Larne confirmed the news themselves, along with the postponement of their following home fixture against Ballymena United, citing their involvement in the UEFA Conference League play-off round.
The Inver Park side were away to Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps on 20 August and hosted the second leg at home on 27 August — a European tie sitting either side of Limavady’s original date, and too tight a turnaround for a squad also competing on two fronts domestically. Larne won the away leg 2–0, but were beaten 0–3 at home in the return and went out 3–2 on aggregate, ending their European run at the play-off stage.
No new date has yet been confirmed for the Limavady United fixture. As it stands, the game doesn’t appear in Limavady’s league record for games played, so it will need to be fitted into the calendar later in the season. We’ll update the Match Centre as soon as NIFL confirm a new date.
