Who we are
Limavady United Football & Athletic Club is a Northern Irish football club based in Limavady, County Londonderry, playing home matches at The Showgrounds. Known across the town and beyond as the Roesiders, the club plays in royal blue shirts and shorts with white trim, blue socks, and a yellow away kit.
Football has been played under various Limavady clubs since 1880, but club historian David Brewster dates the current Limavady United club's formation to 1955. After many years in junior and intermediate football, the club stepped up to the senior Irish Football League in 1997–98 and reached an Irish Cup semi-final in 2003–04 — its first in over a century.
On 18 April 2026, Limavady United were crowned NIFL Championship champions for 2025–26, beating Annagh United 2–0 to secure promotion to the NIFL Premiership for 2026–27 — the club's first season of top-flight football since 2008. Read the full story on the club history page.
