Limavady United are NIFL Championship champions for 2025–26, after a 2–0 win over Annagh United sealed the title and, with it, promotion to the NIFL Premiership for 2026–27 — the club’s first season of top-flight football since losing senior status in 2008.
It’s the club’s third Championship title, following wins in 1983–84 and 1992–93, and completes a remarkable turnaround for a side that spent much of the 2010s bouncing between the Premier Intermediate League and the Championship.
Chairman and committee alike have spoken of the scale of the achievement for a club of Limavady United’s size, with attention now turning to preparations for Premiership football at The Showgrounds for the first time in almost two decades.
